From Feb. 9, 2012, the N.C. Center for Voter Education presents a discussion with former top lobbyist Jack Abramoff on corruption within government and ways to repair America's democracy. The event was held at William Peace University in Raleigh.

Once dubbed by Time Magazine as “The Man Who Bought Washington,” Abramoff rose to become one of the most influential figures in the halls of government before being sentenced to six years in federal prison for mail fraud and conspiracy charges. After serving 43 months of his sentence, Abramoff was released from prison in the summer of 2010.

Last year Abramoff published an autobiographical memoir entitled “Capitol Punishment."
